Project Nursery

Baby boys room is looking so cute! Hubby has worked so hard on refinishing great grandma's dresser for me. Look how great he did!

I've also been working hard on the finishing touches that i could do without hurting little jelly bean. I love how everything is coming together :)

I'm Back!

You know the feeling when you visit your old neighborhood and come across someone who used to be two and is now in junior high? You're completely shocked at how much they have grown up when you haven't (of course) aged since you graduated high school... or so it feels. Many people refer to this as the "looking glass"  when time feels frozen. That's how our last year has felt. We have been so busy having fun with new jobs, working towards graduation, and preparing for a baby on the way that it was a shock when i realized it had been an entire year since i've blogged! So, i'm opening up the door to any of my past blog readers who would like to read the ramblings of our seemingly frozen life. I'm back!

Yes you read that right... we are expecting a sweet baby boy this fall! We are so excited (and terrified) to be parents and welcome a little one into our home. Heaven help us to be as wonderful as our parents were. The past five months have consisted of reading every baby book, magazine and pamphlet i can get my hands on, getting to know the toilet 'up close and personal' (if you get my gist) during the first trimester, seeing our little jelly bean squirm around in 3D, and enjoying the feeling of never being alone as he reminds me with his strong kicks all day. I love being pregnant. What started out as so "wierd" to me has become comforting as our little boy grows. We already love him so much!

C has spent the entire summer working so hard at school so that he can hopefully graduate next May. He has sacrificed his summer for his family and it makes me love him even more. He is such a great husband / father / friend and i'm lucky to have him!

Ok enough of the mushy stuff for now (blame the hormones).

Our Fun Weekend

We went on a spontaneous camping trip this weekend. Best. Camping trip. Ever.

Bloomington Lake is so gorgeous! Tall cliffs, blue clear water and my family. We had fun throwing sticks for Rufus - he couldn't stay out of the water. Loved it.

We had smores, got stuck in the rain, went off roading, swam in the lake and visited Bear Lake for the first time. What a great trip!

Loving Logan, Missionary Memories and July 4th Jubilee!

We have had a VERY eventful couple months! If you haven't heard already, we moved to Logan for a job and are loving it. Some things we have learned from our adventures up here:

-Air conditioners are heavenly and i would not last very long as a pioneer in this heat
-My new favorite phone is the iphone
-I have the coolest job ever!
-My husband is my best friend (already knew... just wanted to say it again)
-Small town charm is real
-I love my family (always have, always will)

-Rufus is a huntin dog at heart and doesn't like chickens... or deer
-Mantua is really pronounced Man-away
-We have some of the best friends in the world!

We are loving our home and the life we are creating together!

Sam is heading to Canada in a few short days! His farewell and talk were amazing- i'm so proud of him! I can't believe how fast he has grown and i am so happy he is my brother. What an amazing young man! I am so excited for him to start his adventures of the best 2 years!

We have learned that July 4th is celebrated over July 3,4,5 and 6th up in Logan :) We watched the fireworks at the USU stadium on the 3rd and fireworks in the sky from our backyard on the 4th. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some more tonight. To keep cool on the 4th, we went and saw Superman in theaters... definitely worth seeing. LOVED it.

Happy 4th of July weekend! God bless America!

Hello my name is Emily and i am a Christmas-aholic.

I have a Christmas fetish... ever since i was a little girl i have been so excited to put up the Christmas decorations, crank up the tunes, sit by the fire with my hot cocoa and watch good 'ol saint nick star in my favorite Christmas shows. Its not so much about the shopping and gifts, but rather the joy and fun memories of the time of year i just love... i got out all my Christmas decorations the other day, put them all up, sat on the couch and then decided that it was too early to get them out! Yes seriously. The point of this little story? Well i realized that even though i love Christmas, i can't forget one of the other most important holiday's of the year! Which is why i am writing some of the things i am thankful for in the spirit of Thanksgiving...

A tight knit family
Friends to laugh with
Sweet puppy who wakes me up with kisses
A kind and loving husband - and best friend
The occasional happy customer at work
2nd chances
Lazy Days
The beauty of the first snowfall
A living prophet
Hot chocolate on cold mornings
My education
Amazing parents and brother
Long walks with my boys
Gilmore girls
My bed and a roof over my head

I am excited for turkey day and spending time with the ones i love. I may have a Christmas problem... but the first step is admitting it right?

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to the best Mom and Brother anyone could ask for!!! I can't believe another birthday has come so fast. To celebrate i want to spotlight each one of them.

Mom

My mom is amazing. She is a strong woman rooted in the gospel and her family. Cancer survivor, roller coaster rider, traveler, snorkeler, BEST cook ever, my hero, my example, and most importantly - my friend. Here is to another great year Mom! I love you!!

My Bro

Sam is turning 18!!! I can't believe how old he is! I still remember that little chubby cheeked two year old dancing to Michael Jackson with his lion and saying "I wanna go to dis-ney-land". It makes me sad to see him grow up because he is my little brother. Sam is an amazing baseball pitcher, cookie maker, game player, joke teller, ski bum, travel buddy, friend, and priesthood holder. I am so proud of him and every choice he has made in life. You are a handsome guy Sam, i love you so much!

Happy Birthday to the most amazing people born on September 15!!!!
